OUR VOLUNTEERS.
Volunteer Church Parade.
BIFLE COMPANIES.
There was a good muster of the various companies of Volunteers yesterday for church parade. Notwithstanding the heavy down-pour of rain in the early morning the civilian soldiers mustered well at the appointed time; the beach drill-shed (head quarters of the JThames Scottish and No. 2 H.R.V.) was almost inconveniently filled by the members of T.S.V., band and cadets, No. 2 H.R.V. and band, T.R.R. and Thames Engineer Cadets, who marched to church; iti the following order:—Band of No-2 H.R.V. leading, T.R.R, Engineer Cadets, No. 2 H.R;Vi the band of T.S.V;~the Company; (T.S^V.) and Cadets. On arriving at St. James' Church the volunteers attended Divine Service, conducted by the Rev. J. Hill, who delivered a most able discourse. After sernce.the companies marched back in the same order. Great improvement was noticeable in the playing of No. 2 H.R.V. band, while the martial music of the excellent band of the T.S.V. quite iri% spired the onlookers, to say nothing of; the spirit it gave to the volunteers them? selves.' Best, Esq.), and accompanied by their Band and St. George's Naval Cadets, who also mustered well under the command of Lieuts. ffamlin and Vernon, marched S. George's Church, where, the service. was conducted by the Rev. V. Lush. It is how some time since there has been a large turn out of Volunteers, and yesterday's . parade most indisputably showed that the various companies have kept up their numbers, and that their military ardour has not been cooled.
