MOANATAIRI BATTERY.
At this company's battery, Cook and party, the Old Whau tributera, who have/ nbt'had a'crushing since Christmas, started - with 10 head. Childerhouse aud party, tributers of the same mine, and the Unicorn shareholders, Campbell and party, are nearly through, and will retort next week. Dunstone and party, the company's .tributers, who are working .the Homeward Bound section, finished crushing this morning, but in consequence of - the retorting furnaces all being used they-' will not retort till to-night. They crushed .
6 tons, and from the amalgam in hand the yield w ill be about an ounce to the ton. The crushing for the Alburnia company will.be started as soon as ten head of stampers are available, which, probably, will be the case on Monday or Tuesday. The obstruction on the tramway referred to in yesterday's issue is not actually on the tramway, but is on the Moanatairi shoot, which has been blocked up, preventing stuff being got down to the battery. Several of the company's tributers will commence forwarding their lots about the middle of next week.
