The principal work in progress in this mine is the extension of the No. 7 or new level. At present the manager is cutting the No. 2 reef in that level, being about 4£ feet into it with as yet no sign of the , hanging wall. This lode shows a great improvement on what it was in the No. 6 level, ifc being how really a, very fin© promising r body of "Its formation at present is rather peculiar, being composed of two sections of stone, th© one being very hard and th© Other soft rock. In the No. 6 the reef is composed of two sections with a " horse " of mullock between,', and now iteeeins, that the reef going down has excluded the/ mullock and.; formed one good' compact lode. The works in the other parts of the mine are proceeding in good style, but there is nothing particular to report regarding them. ..-.'- •
