DUNEDIN.
Thursday. The recentlyrappointed committee for ' the Dunedin Hospital visited the institution yesterday. They found that none of the wards were provided with lavatories, baths, or closets. There was only one lavatory and one bath on the premises, the latter being situated near the kitchen.' Beneath the flooring of one ward and a considerable portion of the building mud and offensive matter to a depth of two or three feet had accumulated, and the offensive odour of closets penetrated a considerable distance. The committee determined that the necessary steps for at ouce effecting the requisite alterations should be taken. The t.est was for the purpose of determining whether or not such things existed. This day. Bradshaw reports stock as follows: — Bank of New Zealand, £19 4s 6d ; Colonial Bank, £1 15s 9d; National Bank, New Zealand, £3 7s; National Insurance Company, £1 5s 6d; Standard Insurance •Company, 13s 9d.
