The Grand Council of Turkey have resolved not to discuss the proposals of the Conference further. This determination, when made known in Constantinople, caused shouts of " Death before dishonor." The Council was unanimous in rejecting the proposals, as contrary to the integrity and dignity of the empire. Ecclesiastical. The Vicar of Pelhamdale continues to defy the Court of Arches. The Bishop of London has closed the church to prevent riots. The matter has been referred to the Privy Council. American. Congress has referred the question of Presidental election to a tribunal composed of the Supreme Court and members of both Houses.
