NAVAL ROWING CLUB.

This club held a committee meeting at the Pacific Hotel last Saturday evening. It was decided to send a message to the Thames Eowing Club enclosing a friendly challenge to pull an amateur race within the next three weeks for £10 a-side. We have no doubt the Thames Glub will take the challenge up, as they have a first-class crew in training—in fact we believe it is the same crew who lately beat the Parawai crew—and we think the Naval Amateurs are rather plucky in tackling the late victorious, crew, and no doubt we will see a very good race. We observe the Naval Professional Crew are in training to go to Wellington for the Interprovincial Eegatta, and that the committee are hard at work collecting the necessary funds. —Contributed.
