QUEEN OF MAY.
The trial crushing for a week upon stone raised from the 270 feet level at the Una mill with 15 head of stampers has resulted in the unsatisfactory yield of 50 ounces retorted gold. A trifle more is yet to come in. The manager, Mr J. Goldswortby has paid off most of the men, concentrating the work chiefly in sinking the main shaft, which was re-let yesterday to a fresh party of men, who will be required to prosecute the work as speedily as possible, with the view of opening out a new level at 420 feet.
