LECTURE ON BUSHRANGERS.

The Her. Mr Agnew delivered a lecture at the Academy of Mu«ic la*t night on reminiscences of bushranging life in New South Wales, in the course of which ho related many details of the system which had been the principal means of driving mpn to a course of lawlessness and crime. The famou- or infamous Ben Hall, who for years was a terror to colonists, was one of the characters selected by the' lecturer to illustrate this portion of bir subject, and he whs able to speak authoritatively on some of the events of Ben Hall's early lite, having been at his christening. The lecture, like the previous one, was full of interest, and a much larger audience was present. Mr Agnew will give a further lecture on Thursday' evening, the subject being " Botany Bay and the floating hells." -
