A CONTRADICTION.
(To the Editor of the Evening Star.) Sir—ln to-day's Advertiser it is staled that a retorting for the tribu ers of the Golden Spur Qompany took place on saturday from a small crushing—a trial from a lode recently opened, with a result of 21ozs Bdwts of melted gold. : ,By jthe. above-paragraph it would appear that this was taken out of the Golden Spur ground, whereas it was taken oufc of the British Licensed Holding—and permission was given by the manager of the British to the tributers of, the Golden Spur to crush five tons of the lode on tkeir own account, with the, above, satisfactory result—l am, &c, Paluam gut meruit ferat.
