(To the Editor of the Evening Star.) Sis—ln . Saturday's Advertiser ifc ii asked by a "Parent" :by what authority *' fines are levied on our children in some of our local schools." I wish'.^o inform him, if such is the cas 3, it is done by no legitimate authority, and that he should at once report the whole circumstances of such complaint in writing; (if possible) to the School Ccmmittee of the district wherein such offence has occurred. The said complaint to be addressed to the Chairman, or otherwise given to any other member of the Committee.—l am, &c, A Mehbee or School Committee. :
