WARDEN'S COURT.
THIS DAY
(Before W. Frasek, Esq., Warden.) JAMBS MITNBO V. WILLIAM MEEK AND OTHEBS. The plaint in this case was that the defendants are the owners of a certain claim situated at Karaka known as the Lilly, and that they have failed to bona fide and continuously work the same from day to day by the number of men prescribed in tne regulations made under the Goldmimng Districts Act, 1873, to wit, by one man for every fifteen thousand square feet of land : wherefore the complainant claims that the defendants be adjudged to have forfeited the said claim by reason of such non-working, and that the Court make an order authorising the complainant to take possession of the said claim.
No appearance of either of the defendants. James Munro, deposed —That he was a miner. Had a miner's right (produced j it). Knew the LiUy claim. It had not; been worked for 6 or 7 wfeeks by any body/! He wished to get possession. Had wit- j nesses to prove that the claim had not been worked; ; William Sanderson, miner, deposed— That he had been working alongside the Lilly claim, and m it no work had been done for 6 or 7 weeks.
Henry Hodge corroborated the evidence of the last witness. Frederick Burgess, Clerk to the Mining Registrar, produced the register of the Liljy claim, which had been registered on the 26th of June, 1874. His Worship made an order, for complainant to take possession. There were no costs. ..-•■■ The Court adjourned. .
