THE SOCIAL ROUND.
FANCY DRESS BALL. The fanny dress ball held in the .Town Hall, Geraldine, in support of the Library Queen, was one of the most successful and pleasing functions of the campaign. The decoration and lighting effects were well carried out bv Air C. Knight. There was a large attendance. and a'though not a great many of the dancers appeared in fancy dress, yet there were a number of very striking costumes. The music was kindly supplied by the Band Queen’s orchestra, and was much annreciated bv the dancers. Afr AA r . Afulnllv was AI.O. During an interval, Mr J. Hardcestle nnolngised for the absence of .Miss Bryant, the Band's Queen, who was unable to he present, and welcomed AUss Kennedv, the Sports Queen. Referring to the Library Queen, he said that Aliss Blakiston had been most consistent in her attention to her duties, and had attended everv function in aid of the cause that she possibly could do. The prize-winners of the evening were then announced, and the prizes were presented hv Afiss B'ak'iston. The awards, y.'hich were made by a committee nf Indies nnd gentlemen, were as follows: —T.adv's dress—Aliss Roll (Butterfl'-) 1. An excellent supner was provider] by the the ladies of the Library Queen’s Committee and friends.
