TRAMWAYS STRIKE.

Cabin Association. : ' MELBOURNE, April 12. ■ A-serious' dislocation was caused during the week-end by the regulation strike'oil the tramways. At the end of the day the cars were nearly two hours behind the schedule time. Iranis during tho busy hours were passing through Swans ton Street at from twelve to twenty minutes’ interval, whereas normally there was only two minutes between passing cars. The resultant , 'congestion and inconvenience- to the public was enormous. Conductors endeavoured to enforce the regulation prohibiting riding on footboards, and buffers, hut threats ol direct action by a uumber of young linen anxious to get home resulted in less attention being paid to this rule.
