Councillor Sattertluvaito then said that he had that day received promises of gifts of scats from a number of patriotic people. No oiie whom lie had approached had refused, but he had had very little time that day, and ho intended to ask others to follow the generous example of those who had already promised seats. The promises ho had obtained yesterday were as follows : Mr and Mrs J. P. Newman, 10 chairs; Mr and Mrs-J. F. K. Jamieson C‘Kinnoull”L 10; Mr Win. Evans, 10; Mr Herbert Elworthy 10, Mr Gladstone Robinson, 5. Mr Donald Grant, £5 towards the cost of garden seats. This announcement.'was received with applause, and a hearty vote of thanks was passed to the donors.
