A serious collision took place at four o’clock this afternoon at the Tyne Street level crossing, just inside the borough, when the southbound express from New Plymouth struck a heavily laden metal lorry, The lorry was driven by Thomas Johnson, a young,married man, who suffered serious injuries to his head, and was removed'to a private hospital. ■ The lorry was completely wrecked, and the locomotive disabled. The.train was held up for an hour and a half, as also was the Auckland express-, and the local express while another engine was produced. KILLED ON THE ROAD. By Tfllesraph—Association.
