At the annual dinner of the NeWjj&egland Dental Association, Mr Maurice Dennistori, honorary secretary, stated that he was satisfied that the Prime Minister would keep hi s word in regard to the admission of unqualified men to tile register, namely, that consideration only would be given to those men who, owing to war disability or other circumstances, had suffered hardship in connection with the opportunity to quality by examination. In reply to a toast in which hii services in connection with the Dental School were specially mentioned. Air TK. Sidey, ALP., ‘ said that-, notwitn-stand-ing tho legal difficulties m .■’connection with hi s offer of money for endowment, he intended before the now school was opened to hand over the sum of £IOOO. Even if to provide this would not do very much in the way of scholarships, it would fill a deficiency itrconnection with the treatment of the poorer class of patient, who was prepared to make use of gold and platinum; ami other precious metals, but could nor, afford to pay. He thought that, if special provision were made lor this purpose, dental students would receive training in a new class of work.a, fund were provided to purchase platinum, gold and other precious metals, uwould go a long way to make up Hie deficiency in the provision of clinical material.
