There were exciting scenes in the demonstration of East End unemployed, organised by the Communists. The crowd attempted to march to Parliament) but was diverted at Hyde Park, where it sang the “Internationale.”
When the demonstrators attempted to march back to the East End, the police broke them up, seized the lied Flag and effected several arrests. At one hundred police were struggling with 300 demonstrators at the Marble Arch, find in the course of the struggle, batons were drawn. Mounted police were called in to disperse the crowd.
