THE DRIVERS’ AAVAHD. By Telezrnpli—Press Association. . GISBORNE, March 29. Owing to tho indisposition of Mr AV. .Scott, employers’ representative on the At nitration Court, the Court adjourned to-day, tdl this evening, but at night Air Scott was still unable to be present. l.i© Court sat in the evening, when jt was asked to decide an application from a Gisborne employer, through the Inspector ot Factories, for an interpretation of the preference clause in tiie drivers’ award. The question was: Is an employer bound to dismiss from his service a youth, a non-unionist, when requested to do so by tho Union, provided there is a member of the union, either youth or adult, qualified lor that particular work? After argument had been heard, the Court reserved its decision.
