Hugh Daly, aged 24, employed as a Hotel porter, and speaking an Irish brogue, was charged at Bow Street witii throwing an explosive missile with intend to do bodily harm at the dinner at the Ireland Club. A priest' seized Daly by the shoulders, and took him downstairs. The magistrate, adjourning the case, reiused bail, saying that it might he a very serious ease indeed. [I here was a sensation at-a St. Patrick’s night banquet as Mr Baldwin rose, caused by a man named Daly throwing a lighted firework from the gallery of the banqueting room, which set fire to tin? carpet, and caused a woman guest to faint. The offender was ejected.]
