Earl Jellicoe officially opened the Children’s Treasure Island at Wembley. He was welcomed aboard the model Golden Hind by a modern Francis Drake, to the salute of guns.

Earl Jellicoo, after the oponing ceremony at the Treasure Island, visited the New Zealand pavilion, delightedly explaining the exhibits to his companions, including his children. He expressed his congratulations at the excellence of the pavilion, adding: “It makes me homesick.”
