SHORTLAND FIRE RELIEF FUND. A MEETING of the Shorlland Fire Relief Fund Committee was held last evening at Butt’s Hotel. Present: Messrs Butt (in the chair), Cox, Driver, Reushaw, and Young. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The Treasurer stated that the £35 expected from Mr Sheehan at Wellington had not been received. The Secretary said Mr Sheehan had telegraphed that he had sent a Post-office order for the amount last Saturday, hut it had not yet come to hand, p'obably would arrive in a day or two. He bad requested the gentlemen at Coromandel to send in their lists at once. There were still some outstanding. Mr Driver moved that as soon as the £35 came to hand that a further dividend of 25 per cent, on the committee’s estimates be paid to the sufferers considered to be entitled, and to liquidate outstanding accounts. Mr Rensiiaw seconded the motion, which was carried. A vote of thanks to the Chairman terminated the proceedings. Due notice'will be given of the next meeting, which will probably be the final one.
