Per GTieville ii Co.’s Express (Reuters Agents) PROPOSED RAILWAY TO THE THAMES. NEW INSURANCE COMPANY. AUCKLAND. An English company have offered to construct a railway from Point Russell to the Thames. The offer has been forwarded to the Minister of Public Works. The terms are kept a secret. The prospectus of the South British Fire and Marine Insurance Company has been issued. The. capital is to be £500,000 in 25,000 shares, unlimited liability. The share to be allotted as follows : one-quarter each to Auckland and Dunedin ; three-sixteenths to Christchurch ; one-eighth to Wellington; and three sixteenths between Nelson, Wanganui, and Napier. It is intended that the Company should be a sister institution to the New Zealand Insurance Company. All the Auckland shares have been applied for.
