INVERCARGILL. The search party have returned from the West Coast to Riverton. At Looking-glass Bay, they saw traces of a wreck. Between Caswell’s and Thompson’s Sound, they found part of a vessel’s bowsprit and a large quantity of ship’s planking. They discovered some books and papers in two fathoms of watlier, also an old illustrated family Bible, a pair of bead-worked slippers, a broken writing desk, a cheque-book of November, 1871, also some papers which appeared to be an invoice of goods supplied to Whitmore, of Greymouth. They searched all along the coast, but found no more remnants.
