A BOLD ABDUCTION CASE.
At the Cork Assizes two men, named William Coleman and Thomas Kidney, were indicted for the forcible abduction of a young lady named Spillane. The prisoners, Miss Spillane, and her mother had been at a party oil the night previous to tlie offence being committed, and there had been some dancing during the evening, in the progress of which the prisoner Coleman, it was alleged, frequently kissed the prosecutrix. In the morning, when about to go home, it was discovered that Mrs Spillane’s car was not to be found, and they intended to go home on Coleman’s, but Mrs Spillane, having got up on a chair which had been placed for her convenience, she was thrown down by the sudden removal of the chair, aud Miss Spillane thrown into the vehicle by Coleman, who drove off at full speed. She struggled and cried out, but without avail. The prisoners were convicted of the forcible abduction, and sentenced to two years’ imprisonment.
