VOLUNTEERING.

The Engineer company mustered about a dozen members in uniform, and a number of recruits, who did not fall in with the company, for their monthly inspection. The company was put through the inspection exercise, and, we believe, were dis-

nissed without any inspection having aken place. No. 1 Royals, with Captain Lipscy,

Lieutenant Lechner, and Ensign Quinton, were well represented, and were put Trough the platoon and manual exercise jy their captain. No. 2 11.R.V. also niiis:cred very fairly, under the command of Ensign Crick. The T.R.R., Captain Williams, assembled in good numbers. The Engineer Cadet Corps, Lieutenant

Pascoe, and the T.R.R. Cadet Corps, Lieuenaiit Gudgeon, assembled at the Volini-

teer Hall last evening, for inspection by* Major Cooper. The former numbered about 30 rank and tile, and tiio latter about 25 rank and file. The T.R.R. Corps usually muster very* strongly, but we

presume the smallness of numbers last evening was owing to the change of drill grounds.

The Naval Brigade Artillery squad were drilled at the big guns last evening. It will bo seen that the whole of the companies are exortimr themselves so as to be efficient for the review on tlie Queen’s Birthday, and we have no hesitation in saving that the affair will he a grand success, as far as drill and steadiness goes. We are glad to notice that silence in tlie ranks is adhered to now more than previously.
