THE BALL.
The Annual Ball in connection with St. Patrick’s-Day sports came off last night at St. George’s Hall, and as we thought, was a most decided success in every way. The arrangements of the Committee were perfect in every way, and consequently all went smoothly. The room was well lighted and richly ch coratcd, and ventilated as well as could he expected. Down stairs Mr Hales had prepared refreshments in his well-known able manner, and the arrangeme it here, too, was we consider admirable. Any person could go in when they pleased, so that a crush was always avoided, and everyone could enjoy their refreshmens in peace and quietness. The music was good, and the .mly drawback was that the Hall was not large enough, as there must have been over 400 persons present altogether. The utmost order and regulation prevailed throughout, and all seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves. Daylight appeared before the dancing was concluded, and weary lads and lasses wended their way homewards, to dream of pleasures gone by and those to come.
