VOLUNTEER INTELLIGENCE.

Tiie firing by the Cadets between 14 and 17 years of age, in the third set, took place at the riHe range, Mount Eden, on Saturday last. There was a good number present. The day was fine, and the majority of the scores made were splendid. The ranges were 100, 200, and 300 yards, five shots at each range. L'he scores made ,in the second set are to he added together, making 25 shots in all, or a possible 100 points. The tup score on Saturday was 54, made by R. Lynch, of the Grammar School Cadets. In the second set he made 31, thus making 85 points altogether. Major Gordon was in charge.
