MUTUAL MINING INVESTMENT COMPANY.
A meeting of members of this mutual society was held last night at the rooms of the Young Men’s Christian Associntian. The object was to consider the future conduct of ihe company, all the instalments of the shares having been last week paid up. There was a good attendance, Mr Cass being in the chair. The report and balance-sheet were read, exhibiting a more satisfactory position of the Company than might have been expected considering the great fall in the value of mining interests. It was unanimously resolved that the former intention of increasing the capital by the issue of 200 new shares should be abandoned. It was also resolved that the 37 unallotted or forfeited shares of (lie original issue should he made available for being taken up by shareholders, on similar conditions to those observed in the treatment of tlio other shares, namely, by payments in weekly instalments, beginning with tbe present date. It was also n solved Hint, divid nds being allocated on these end all other shares alike, they should in this cases be appropriated only to paying the last instalments of the share? taken up. It was also resolved that the powers vested by deed of association in the shareholders, to declare dividends, should be delegated to the directors. Messrs Pardy and Carlyle were appointed directors in the room of two resigned. It was intimated that certificates of scrip could be obtained on application to the secretary, Mr Cartwright. A cordial vote ol thanks was given by acclamation to the directors and to the Chairman, and the meeting dispersed.— Cross,
