ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at W cllington, this third day of January, 1872. Present : His Excellency the Governor in Council. Whereas by “The Gold Mining Districts Act, 1871,” it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor from time to time, by Proclamation in the General Government Gazette, to constitute and appoint any District to be a Gold Mining District under the said Act, as in the said Act mentioned : And whereas, by the said Act. it is amongst other things enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor, by order in Council, to establish for any Cold Mining District constituted under the said Act, a Warden’s Court for the administration ot justice therein and any such Court to abolish: And whereas by a Proclamation bearing date tho second day of January instant, in pursuance of the powers and authority in him vested by the said Act the Governor did constitute and appoint the district therein described and named “The llauraki Gold Mining District,” to.be a Gold Mining District under the said Act as therein mentioned : And whereas it is expedient that a Warden's Court should be established for the said

district so constituted as aforesaid, as hereinafter mentioned :

Now therefore, His Excellency Sir George Ferguson Bowen, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the authority vested in him by the hereinbefore in part recited Act, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Colony, doth hereby order that there shall he a Warden’s Court for the said “llauraki Gold Mining District ” so constituted under the said Act as aforesaid, and doth hereby establish the said Court for administration of justice therein : Provided that this order shall not take effect until the twenty-second day of January, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.
