THAMES MUNICIPALITY.
A meeting of the Thames Municipality was held yesterday afternoon, at the Pacific Hotel. Present: —Mr Perston (in the chair), and Messrs Burgess, Dean, Swan, Brearley, Goodall, and Davies.
The Chairman said the business was to consider what answer should be given to the deputations in reference to the boundaryr question. Mr Swan moved that the question of boundaries he referred back to the subcommittee. He believed all the township residents would be glad of a municipality, but that it would not do to force it upon the holders of residence sites. Air Goodat.j. said he would like to sec Parawai included. Indeed, without Parawai, lie should not care for the municipality; hut lie would undertake to canvass the residents. Mr Swan said he would withdraw his motion, and move an amendment that Mr Goodall be requested to amend flic boundaries, so as to obviate the objections made by the deputations from the outdistricts, and fo report the result to a meeting, to he held on Saturday, at 4 p.m.
