MINING.
Bright Smile. —Some excellent stone was taken yesterday morning from the reel: in the low level. Tho drive has holed through into the winze, so that the manager will now he enabled to lake out much larger quantities of stone, and keep up crushing. At the mill, the plates are making a very good show for a rich return.
Queen oe Beauty. —Tho crushing for this company, which has been going on at Bull’s battery for the last fortnight, was cleaned up on Saturday, and gave the very satisfactory return of 1430 z 7dwt of melted gold. For this return, about 140 tons of dirt were put through. They now employ the whole strength of the battery, and shortly will be able to emnloy more.
CoI. IRAN. —Wo, last night, saw some splendid stone from the reef in this compni.y’s ground—stone which wiil yield magnificently when crushed. This comes from (lie other end of the mine than that from which tho last crushing took place, proving the richness ol the reel at both ends of tho ground. There is a large quantity of stone in the paddock, and crushing will be commenced in a short I ime.
