GENERAL GOVERNMENT WATER SCHEME.
To the Editor of the Thames GI'AKDL'.x
Sir, —"When are we to receive Ilie decision of the General Government as to carrying out tlie high level Water “Works for this field? I helicve that elaborate plans have been prepared by Mr J. J. O’Neill, C.E., submitted to, and approved of by the Government, hut why, I ask, is no decision come to mi a work of paramount importance to this field? When it is considered the amount of capital and labour lying idle for want of wal-w, the Government are much to blame, and they may lie sure that the inhabimiits of this field have not lost sight of the fact that they have hitherto been unjustly dealt with as regards public works, and will be .'dive in future to their own interests, in agitating for measures by which they will have a more immediate control of their revenues.—Yours, CAI'ITAUbT.
