THAMES SPORTS COMMITTEE.

A meeting of the Thames Sports Committee was held last evening, at Manuel’s European Hotel, when entries were received for the different events, which will be published, together with the handicaps, as soon as the latter have been made. From the large number of entries sent in (accompanied in nearly every instance by cash dawn), there can be little doubt but these sports will be amongst the most successful that have ever taken place here. The services of the Volunteer Band have been secured, aud many of the have been indefatigable, as has also tl) © lion, secretary, in their endeavours to bring these sports to a successful issue.
