AMUSEMENTS.

American Theatre. —'The Royal company appeared at this place of amusement last evening, in the ppwerful drama entitled" Plot and Passion.” Miss A. Bowring, as Madame Pontage, was clever and effective, and sustained the role of the heroine with consummate skill. Mr Steele’s Marquis de'Cedenncs, entitled him justly to the applause the audience bestowed on his acting. Mr Joyce’s Desjncret was faultlessly rendered, and certainly contributed much to the success of the piece. The attendance was very fair, and we hope it will bejan induement for the company to visit again. The burlesque of the “Forty Thieves” concluded the entertainment.
