AFFAIRS AT THE CAPE.
Capetown, October 18. Khama, with fifteen hundred men has reached Saite. Seven hundred Matabeles are guarding ten thousand cattle sixty miles from Tuli. It is expected that Commander Ruaf will make an effort to capture the animals. No nows has been received from the front since Saturday, and much anxiety is felt at the progress of events. Oct. 19. Sir Henry Loch, Governor of Cape Colony, intends to proceed to the scene of the trouble in Matabeleland. Two thousand of Khama’s men have joined the British. Half of them are armed with Martini rifles.
Telegraphic connection between Forts Victoria, Charter, and Salisbury is cut.
