INTERCOLONIAL SHOOTING.
Sydney.. Oct. 21-. A strong wind was blowing during the progress of the Intercolonial Championship Match, open to teams of 10 men a, side, 500yds, 600yds, and 700yds, 15 shots at e:ich range. The scores were Victoria, Io'.JS ; South Australia, 1514 ; New Zealand, 1507 ; Queensland, 1401 ; Tasmania. 1400 ; New South Wales, 1470. Fixed sights were used in the match. Pmnell, of AVanganui, fired splendidly. He made one "Vass at the 700yds range, which \ V as the only occasion he \fp"\\, oil' the target during the The New Zealand team led by twenty points at the short range, but the Victorians caught them at next stage and gained a lead of eighteen points. The New Zealanders fell to pieces at tho 700yds range, where they made the lowest score. The Victorian team, who won, take the McGregor Challenge Cup and 10 gold medals presented by the General Council of the Rifle Association of Australia. The meeting has now closed.
