FOOTBALL.
AROWHENUA v. PLEASANT POINT ' A football match between the above took place at Pleasant Point on Thursday last, and resulted in a win for the former, by 10 points to 7, after an Interesting contest. The Arowhenua team was captained by Gaffaney, who scored a try, as also did Sullivan, both of which C|onverts4 into thd major popp by - JV Brbsnahan, one being a difficult kick, captained the Pleasant Point team. Hobbs and Keane scored a try A each, one of whi?h_ was, converted into a ' goal by Cloldstono. For Ai'owheima, Haffaney, Brosnahan,and Connell (backs), and W. Fitzgerald, Cronin, M, Barrett, HefFornan, D. Sullivan, Murphy, and Hoare (forwards), did excellent work, while for Pleasant Point, in the backs Goldstone and Hobbs, and in the forwards Keane and Cartwright, rendered most service. The game throughout was ■ played in an excellent spirit.
TIMARU v. WAIHI. The senior cup match between the above clubs which was to have been played in Timaru on Saturday last went by default against Waihi, who were pliable to muster a team. WAIHI v. COLONIALS. The following are the names of the fW aihi team picked to play the Colonial Second Fifteen on Thursday next, on the ’Winchester ground : Moore (2), Opio (2), H. Morrison, W. Colbert, W.
