DEATH OF MR PARNELL.
London, Oct. 8. The doctor certify that Mr Parnell's dekth was due" to rheumatic fever and failure of the heart's action, and in thin opinion Mrs Parnell argrees. His family deny the- suicide. Mr James O'Kelly, after viewing tho body, declared that he appeared as if he had died from natural causes. Mr Parnell's last appearance in public was at CJregga, and while there he stood three hours in the rain. The people of Cork exhibited but little outward regret, bxrfc in Dublin the shock was very acute. Mr Parnell left no political directions. The news of his death caused a profound sensation in America, where the Press comments are of a generous nature, even among those hostile to him there was an immediate jevulsion of feeling. The Times considers that the highest evidence of Mr Parnell's intellectual ability lies in the fact that he inspired actual enthusiasm, though his personal character waff so repellant. The Standard ,«sys he died at a moment most favourable to his reputation, and •fc'iat his death will revive. the, bond of fidelity of the past.": It. expects an early division (?) "of the party. Parnoll's funeral will take place ai Dublin on Tuesday. His words were—"T love my colleagues and people of Ireland, and I hope they will be as well tended in their sickness as I have been in mine/' Oct. 9. No post mortem was held oil Mr Parnell. merely an outward examination" was made. The funeral takes place k\ Glasnevin cemetery on Sunday within O'Connell's circle. The McCarthy section will attend, though the Parnellitee accuse them of hunting the dead man to his grave. Parnell was conscious for a brief period bafore his death. The press in Great Britain, on tho Continent, and in America continue tr publish comments, mostly bearing tribute to his "memory. Oct. 10. Mr Parnell's mother is showing svmptoms of insanity consequent on hif, death. She believes that he was murderedNational subscriptions are being raised in New York and Chicago for the purposs of erecting a statue to his memory. The hndv has been removed from Brighton to Dublin and was escorted: by numeroiif members of "his party- There was n< demonstration in England. The princ : pal railway companies in Ireland intenr 1 to run special trains to carry those desirous of attending the fuueral. It i? expected that there will be a tremendous demonstration at the grave. Fearing an attack by the mob on the arrival of the corpse in Dublin, none of the follower? o? Mr Justin McCarthy attended. Many of the public bodies' in Ireland have cirried motions expressing sympathy and regret at the death of Mr Parnell.
