GERALDINE TOWN BOARD.

The monthly meeting of the Geraldine Town Board was held on Tuesday evening last. Present —-Messrs A. White (chairman), W, 8, Maslin, J, Williams, A, Sherratt, B. Hammond, and N. Dunlop. CORRESPONDENCE. Correspondence was read and dealt with as follows ;■ — From the Uuder-Secietary, Wellington, informing the hoard that Mr 0 E Sherratt had applied to be allowed to continue te act as clerk of the licensing committee for the district of Geraldine. —It was decided that Mr Sherratt still act as licensing clerk at the same remuneration as before. From Mr W. Stonehouse, applying for the quarterly subsidy due bo the Geraldine Fire Brigade.—Passed for payment. BEPOBT*. The ranger reported the following for allowing their cattle to wander on tbe streets since last meeting;— Mrs Post (1), J. Dean (T), W. Willoughby (1), G. Helem (1)., J. Albert (1), F. Worner (1), J. M. Sutherland (1). OVERSEER'S BEPOBT. Tbe overseer’s report on work done was read and confirmed. TENDERS. G Ward was the successful tenderer for shingling 130 yards on the main street from Maslin’s street to Williams’, 20 yards Pleasant Valley road, 20 yards Flaxmill street, 20 yards footpath main street, 10 yards back streets—at £l2 10a, or Is 3d per cubic yard. FINANCIAL. Accounts amounting to £27 5s 7d were passed for payment. The chairman intimated that tbe Government audit had been received, showing that Mr Hiskens’ accounts were very satisfactory, and minutely correct. THE VALUATION BOLL. The following names were placed upon the valuation roll:—Alfred Ewen Cox, as occupier ef part town section 45 ; Esther Holloway applicant. A. H. Wilson Smith, as occupier of lot 29; H. B. Webster applicant. Aloauxder Mitchell, as occupier of part sections 4631 and 4221 J; Patrick Kyne applicant. Ellen Kennedy, ao occupier of lot 85; Simon Peter Tozer applicant. Sarah Hammond, as occupier of lot 67; RobertHammond applicant. Annie Maslin, as occupier ot lot 62, Maslic’s Township ; John Whittaker applicant. Mary B. Quin, aa occupier of lot 1, Healey’s township; J; A. Quin applicant. Agnee Fyfe, as occupier of lots 17 and 83, Maslin’s township ; W, S. Maslin applicant. Thomas Dickens, as occupier of sections 18, 19, and 20, Maalin’s township; R. F. Andrews, applicant. Mrs A, Ken* nington, as occupier of lot 57, Masha's township; N. Dunlop applicant, F. Wilson Smith, as occupier' of lot 46, Talbot street; G J Dennistoun applicant. Mary E Newport, as occupier of lot 17, deposited plan 33 ; ( W S Maslin applicant. Benjamin Gibson, as occupier of lota 9 and 10, deposited plan 126; Ophelia Gibson applicant. Several ether applications were rejected, being informal.

APPOINTMENT. Mr 0. B. Sherratt was appointed for the Geraldine Town District as registrar of dogs; returning officer to conduct all licensing elections; and treasurer to receive moneys for al! licenses. DOMAIN BOARD. A meeting of the Domain Board was then held, Present Messrs A. White (chairman), W. 8. Maslin, J. Williams, A. Sherratt, E, Hammond, and N, Dunlop. TENDERS, Mr James Turner tendered, £2 10s for annual rental ot town sections 140 and 147.—Beferred to Finance Committee to deal with. WORKS. It was decided to have the large iron gate at the upper end of Talbot street removed.
