ONE MAN ONE VOTE.
The one man one rote principle is being agitated in England, and judging from present appearances it will soon become law. No less a personage tHan Lsrd Bandolph Churchill is advocating it. In a recant speech to his constituents he said:— “ I thick one man one vote a very small afl'iir, and! Lops the Tories will be sensible enough nob to allow the Oladstoniao party to manufacture capital out of that cry. (Hear, hear.)”
For many years Sir George Grey has been put down as in his dotage because he advocated this principle, and he has been constigated by. the l ory Press of of Australia because he advocated it at the Federation Convention. After all
it will be seen tfaat he is not so much ahead of the Tories of England. We have always held that the Tones of England were more Liberal than the Tories of New Zealand, and here we have proof of it. It is satisfactory to note, at any rate, that democratic ideas are gaining the day.
