AUCTIONEERS’ REPORTS,
Messrs J. Mundell and Co. report sales for the week ended April 8, 1891, as follows: — GERALDINE. At Geraldine Ram and Ewe Sdeand Market on Wednesday, Ist April, we yarded 270 ram?, 13,256 sheep, 66 eattle, 75 pigs. 'Owing to the continued dry weather 'he prices realised were in favor of buyers. Of our entry we sold 75 rams, 2196 sheep, 35 cattle, and 25 p gs at the fallowing quotaiiona — Sheep Rams; On account of Spti-g----field Estate. Temnka, English Leicester 2-tootba at 4| to 5 guineas, do do ram lambs 3J gu ueas under keen competiiion, the supply being short of the demand for stud sheep from this stock ; on account of E. Burke, English Leicester ram lambs 3 to 3J guineas ; on account of other well known breeders English Leicester at 3 to 3J guineas, Border Leiceslers 2 to 2J guineas, Lincolns 1 to guineas, stud ewes 1 guinea each. General. Market Stock; Three-qnarterhred ewes, 4 and 6 tooth, 10s to 10s 3d ; crossbred ewes, fad mouth, 6s to 7s 61; merino ewes, 3s 81, 4s 41 to 5s ; crossbred wethers and maiden ewes, 2-tooth, lla to Hs 0J ; crossbred ewes, fat, 10s, 10-i 6d to 10s 91; lambs, ha fbreds. 7s 3d to 8s; lamb?, tliree-quarter-breds, 9s to 10s 6d ; cull crossbred ewes, 4s. 4s 6d to 5s ; cull merinos, Is Bd, Is 9d, 2*, 2s 41 to 2s 6d.
Cattle —Heifers, io forward condition, £2 12s 61 ; steers and heifers, 2-year-old, £2 15a-to £3 ; dry cows, £1 15a to £2 ; yeariiogs, 15s to 17s 6d. pjga—Stores, 5s 6i to 6s ; weaners, 3s to 3s 6d. WASH DYKE, , At the ram and ewe sale at Waehdyke yards on Thursday, April 2nd, of ou r entry we disposed of the following lines of stock : —Kama —On account of Mr John Mcßeth, Totarn : It is our pleasing du'y to report the fret aa e on account of this well-known breeder of a draft from his stud flock in a South Canterbury market, consisting of 9 Border Leicester 2 tooths and 15 Border Leicester ram lambs, the line being principally secured by Mr Joseph Wareiug, Temuka, at 4|gs each for the 2 tooths and each for the ram lambs. It must have been gratifying to the breeder to see the keen competition displayed by buyers to obtain a draft from his stock. On account of other well-known breeders in North and South Canterbury we sold Border Leicester 2 tooths at 3g« to Sjgseach ; Lincolns, Ig to IJgs each Ewea—Hilfbreds, sound sheep, lOr 3d to 10s 61 ; three-quarteibreda, sound sheep, ids to Us. PLEASANT POINT. At this market on Monday, the 6th, we sold 100 three-quarterbred wethers and ewes at 14* (mp. price for 'he day), 50 crossbred ewes (far) at 7« 101. 66 threequarterbred lambs at 8s 10d, 70 crossbred cull ewes at 4s 10d. TEMUKA. At the ram and ewe sale and market on Tuesday, the 7‘h. the entry consisted oi of 225 rams, 4960 sheep (all classes), 70 head of cattle, and 52 pigs. At this fair, ns at Geraldine, the market was topped by the stud rums from the Springfield estate, every lino on offer being sold under keea competition at 4gs to 4|gs each for Border Leicester 2 tooths, and to 3ge each for English Leicester runs, full mouth. On account several other clients we sold Border Leicester at to 2gs, Lincolns at Ijgs to 2gs, Southdowns, 3|gs each Ewes : Halfbreds, Bs, 8a 61 to 10s 3d ; ihree-quarter-breds, full mouth, 9s 6d to 10s ; cull crossbreds, 5s to 5a 6d ; merino cull ewes, 2s 6d to 3s ; three-quarter-bred wethers and ewes, 13s 3d,
