GERALDINE DOMAIN BOARD,
The usual monthly meeting of this board was held on Tuesday evening last. Present Messrs A White (chairman), W S Maslin, J Williams, A Sherratt, and E Hammond. TIMBER CUTTING IN BUSH. Very great dissatisfaction was expressed with the way the timber destroyed by the fire in the bush was being cut. The time was now up, and very little of the work was done. As the contract time had expired during March it was decided that the I chairman should terminate Mr Johnson’s contract the following day, and request him to tally up the material he had cut, which would be paid for as soon as the work still to be done was completed. ihe works committewere authorised to get the remaining work done on the most favorable terms. MISCELLANEOUS Mr J. Hay wrote offering to lease sections 140 to 147 inclusive, situated at the rear of his property. It was decided to invite applications | for the lease in the usual course. Mr White’applied on behalf of the school committee for the use of the small park for bolding the school treat on the 16th iust.— Granted. The clerk was instructed to call the attention to holders of wicket gates to the fact that their rents, due on Jan, 1, were still unpaid. I The meeting then terminated.
