GERALDINE DOMAIN BOARD.

The usual monthly meeting of this board was held on Tuesday evening. Present—Messrs A White (chairman), W S Maßlin, J Williams, A Sherratt, N Dunlop, and J Mundell. CORRESPONDENCE. Correspondence was read and dealt with as follows: — Mr HK Morton, secretary of thg Geraldine Football Club, asking for the club to be allowed to use the oval for tootball during the winter.— Granted on condition that the club repair any damage done to the fences or pavilion during their term. From the Geraldine Sports Committee, asking to be allowed to use the large park for the sports gathering on March 17, and requesting the board 1 to advertise the same in accordance with the Act. —Granted on the same conditions as last year. An account from Mr G Ward for £1 4i3, balance of claim for the bush fire, was ignored, the board having finally dealt with the claim previously. TIMBEB CUTTING IN" BUSH.

The chairman stated that he had, with Mr Williams, visited the bush. He found that the contract for cutting up the trees destroyed was proceeding very slowly. He handed in a list showing what timber had been cut, The board considered the work done very unsatisfactory. Later on the contractor, Mr R. Johnson, attended and explained that he could not get men to work at the price he had taken it for. He promised to do his best to push on the work. It was decided to grant a progress payment of £5, and to notify Mr Johnson that the board would expect him to fulfill the conditions of the contract re time. GATES INTO PAEX. Attention waß drawn to the fact that some of the large gates leading into the bush parks were in awkward positions, and could not be used by the public. The works committee were authorised to inspect the gates, and place them where most convenient. ACCOUNTS. Accounts amounting to £6 17s 4d were passed for payment, and the meeting terminated.
