TBMUKA SCHOOL COMMITTEE. A

The monthly meeting of the Temuka School Committee was held on Tuesday evening. Present—Messrs "W. Storey (chairman), B. Brown, Gk H. Mogridge, W. Wills, W. Gk Eutland, J. Yelvin, and P. McCaskill. COBBBSPOKDEIirCI!. Correspondence was read— Trom the Education Board, covering Inspector's report, which was considered highly satisfactory. From the same, in respect to an extract from an Order-in-Council relative to the audit of school committees' accounts. • ' I'roni the same, asking the committee to nominate two members to fill vacancies on the Education Board. w-—lt was resolved to Dominate Messrs John Talbot and Melville Gray, the' secretary to write and ask their consent.

THE PEIZB MBING, •"' Votes of thanks were passed to Mr A. E. G. Ehodes, M.R.8., the Caledonian Society, and other donors of special prizes. A special vote of thanks was also accorded to Mesdames Allan, B. Brown, Farnie, and Mogridge for acting as judges of sewing. ACCOUNTS.

Accounts, in connection with the late ptirchase of prizes, amounting to £ll 16s Bd, wete passed for payment, and also general accounts to the amount of £7 16s 7d. SECBETABY.

Six applications were received for the position of secretary, and after discusßtonf Mr A. W. Gaze was appointed. The chairman, on behalf of the members of the committee, expressed regret*.at losing Mr Ashwell's services. During his term of office he had proved himself most diligent and efficient, He trusted that hiß future career would be in every respect a prosperous one. :

The chairman and Mr Wills were appointed visitors for the month and the meeting terminated.
