The following is the Inspector's report oh the standard examination of the Woodbury Public School, held on the iJLth and 12th December. The head teacher is Mr Joseph Grreaves, And the number of pupils on roll 102 —•53 boys and 49 girls. Standard VII —Presented, 8. Standard Vl.—Presented, 5; failed, 1; passed, 4. Standard V.—Presented, 15; excepted, 1; failed, 2; passed 12. Standard IV.—Presented, 10; absent, 1; failed, 1; passed, 8. Standard lll.—Presented, 15; abaentj 1; failed, 3; passed, 11. Standardll.—Presented, 17; failed, 4; passed, 13. Standard I.—Presented, 15; failed, 1 3; passed, 12. Preparatory Class—Presented, 22. Total—Presented, 102; absent, 2; excepted, 1; failed, 14; passed, 60. Percentage of passes, 58; percentage of failures, 18. Class Subjects (Marks 0 to 100) Drawing, 80; history, 70; geography, 85; elementary science, object lessons, etc, 57; total, 292; percentage on class subjects, 73;
Additional Subjects (Marks 0 to 20) —Repetition and recitation, 13; drill and exercises, 17; singing, 15; needlework, 16; subject matter of reading lessons, 15; additional marks, 76. Remarks Standard VII.: Three pupils passed well in the work set far Standard VI. Class P: The preparatory pupils have been taught with fair skill and intelligence, and all their work is creditably done. The.school has passed a very good examination.
