MOONT PEAL ROAD. BOARD.
The monthly meeting of this board was held on Friday, the 16th inst. The members present were the Hon. J. B. A, Acland (chairman), Messrs R. Mackay, R. Thew, 0. G. Tripp, and G. J. Dennistoun. , COBBESPONDENOE. Correspondence was read and dealt with as follows: [ Prom the Secretary Timaru Harbor Board, intimating that it will be necessary to hold an election on the 9th February for the return of a member to represent the road district on the Harbor Board. —The clerk was instructed to take the necessary steps for conducting the election. From the Traffic Manager Hew Zealand Railways, Christchurch, quoting "charge for railage of stonebreakiog machine from Rangitata to Christchurch.—The clerk was directed to forward a copy of the letter to Mr Andrews, the purchaser of the machine, From the Attorney for the Colonial Real Property Company, relative to thtt valuation of the Company's property at Sherwood Downs.—The clerk stated he had supplied the information asked for. From the Commissioner of Crown Lands, stating that a certain sum would be payable annually to be expended in the construction and maintenance of roads leading to sections 36092, 36093, 36004, and 36096.—The clerk was instructed to
inspect the country with the view of the best course to be adopted in forming a road giving access to the sections mentioned. Pram the Secretary Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, acknowledging the receipt of £76 4s Id, being second moiety of contribution due for the currenfryear. ACCOUNTS. After passing accounts to the amount of 14a 4d, the board adjourned.
