LABOR DISPUTES.
Sydney, June 9. The long,ppnding dispute between the Wharf Laborers’ Union and the employers of wharf labor, represented by the Employers’ Union and Steamship Owners of Australasia, has reached an acute stage, A general meeting of merchants and traders will be shortly held to consider the whole difficulty, which will probably result in a suspension of tho shipping trade of Sydney, Christchurch, June 9. The Trades and Labor Council oq Saturday resolved to wait or the Master Bakers Associaimu, and in the event of failing to arrive at a satisfactory understanding, to publish a list of bakers who conform to the rules of the Operative Bakers Association. Tho bakers of Dunedin have forwarded £lO, and have made a levy of 2s 6d per week each member until the dispute is settled.
