London, Jane 7. In the House of Commons Sir James Fergusson said it was impossible to make a further statement regarding EtewfoundJand, pending an interview with the Premier. Meanwhile the French and .English naval officers were combining to minimise local excitement. Sjr George Campbell, in the House of Commons, suggested that the New Hebrides should be ceded to France in exchange for the Newfoundland fisheries, St. Johns, June 9. The French and English warships and the ; French fishermen are dispersing, and the trouble is practically over for the present year, bnt it is probable that hostilities will be violently renewed a°xt season, Paris, June 9. Ibo French press ridicule the idea that war will ensue. fbey refer to the dispute as a paltry one, and advocate the acceptance of an indemnity and .the granting of territorial compensation,
