INVERCARGILL WOOL SALES. Invercargill, Dec. 29. . The first wool sale of the season was held on the 28th. Competition Was not so keen as was expected, although there was a fair attendance ol Buyers. About 400 bales were submitted, of which fully one-third were passed in. The bidding was very irregular, and the recent rise was not upheld. Prices ranged as follows Merino, to lOd; crossbred, B£d to 10|d; half breds, to ll^d; pieces, up to 7^d ; scoured, first combing, up to Is 6d.
