In North Canterbury a lad is raporUd to hare mads 21a in a Trask collecting small birds eggs, the rate of payment being 2d per doa«n. ' A child named Robert John Morgan was drowned at his parents’ residence, Green Island, near Dunedin, en Christmas Day. The child was playing about',a well near the residence and fell in. A man named Ernest Allison, while loading a dray in "West Oxford bush on Saturday, was knocked down by the horse. The wheel passed over hits body, inflicting injuries of which he died on Monday.
